New provisions under the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 came into force on 31 October. These provisions allow for compensation to be paid to those who have certain interests in property, but who are not entitled to receive home loss payments.
The new types of payment are the basic loss payment, for some owners and tenants, and the occupier's loss payment, relating to agricultural land.
