From 25 October, Gurkhas who are discharged from the British Army after four or more years' service can apply for indefinite leave to enter or remain in the UK as Gurkhas discharged from the British Army. After twelve months, they will be able, if they want, to apply for British citizenship.
The same rules apply to other foreign or Commonwealth citizens who are discharged from the British armed forces.
