Access to the countryside

14 December 2004

New rights of access to the countryside come into force in central southern England on 14 December. Access to land in south-east and lower north-west England came into force on 19 September. More areas in England and Wales will become accessible during the course of 2005. More information, including maps of the areas concerned in England, is available at www.countrysideaccess.gov.uk.
