Council tax

All homes in Wales should have received a notice of rebanding together with a booklet called Important information and guidance: council tax revaluation and rebanding 2005. The new valuations are based on property values at 1 April 2003 and come into effect in April 2005 for council tax bills for 2005/06.

Householders can appeal against a new banding from April 2005 to the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). Questions or requests for more copies of the booklet can be made to the VOA's helpline on 0845 600 1748 or the local authority.
