Tax Credits - 31 January deadline

10 January 2005

Tax credit claimants who were unable to provide a final income figure for 2003/2004 by 30 September 2004 may have provided the Inland Revenue with an estimate of earnings. However, they must provide the final figure, if different from the estimate, by 31 January. If a claimant fails to provide the final figure, the claim will be finalised on the estimated figure.

Claimants who failed to renew their claims by 30 September 2004 and had their payments stopped can still contact the Revenue with the correct information. Their claims may be renewed from 6 April 2004 if they provide good cause for the delay. They cannot do this after 31 January.
