Asylum seekers

04 February 2005

From 4 February, asylum seekers can apply for permission to work if the decision on their asylum application has taken more than a year.

They will not be allowed to be self-employed or to engage in a business or professional activity. The reason for the delay in the decision must not be the fault of the asylum seeker.
