Road tax changes

29 March 2005

Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) savings stamps for road tax are no longer issued from 31 March 2005.

People who have collected DVLA stamps can use them to pay for road tax at any vehicle licence issuing post office until 31 March 2006. From this date, stamps can only be used at a DVLA local office or refunded at DVLA Swansea.

General post office savings stamps, which can be used for road tax as well as other things, such as household bills, can now be bought at post offices. Until 31 March 2006, people can use a mixture of DVLA stamps and general stamps to get their road tax at the post office. The two types of stamps must not be mixed on the same card.
